What Point and Shoot Should I Buy?

I get asked this question all the time…and it turns out my answer is not as dumb as I thought.

 

I use the iPhone.   Other than my big gun cameras, I don’t own a point and shoot.  I’ve had a few over the years and frankly, I found them confusing.  Way too many dials and too many button-y pushy things that made no sense.  Honestly, those things are way too complex.  I love the simplicity of the iPhone.  It’s always with me.  And as it turns out master photographer Annie Leibovitz agrees with me!

 

 

And here’s another truth…the iPhone 4 has more megapixels than the pro camera I shot weddings on back in 2005.  During the slow winter months I like to challenge myself taking pictures just with my iPhone.  I have my favorites from  2011 printed out as a collage on my wall.  There’s tons of photo aps on iTunes that you can download to play with the photos.  My personal favorite is Hipstamtic, but I’ve been meaning to download and play with Instagram as well.
